Can I as a recent buyer of a property that has pipeline easements on my property; can I negotiate to get paid by company (IES) if they enter my property for maintenance or repairs?

Can I as a new owner negotiate payment and or state stipulations on entrance of my property? Schedule B lists the pipeline easements but no other information regarding the easements. I want to know what I can do with regards to payment negotiation entering my property.

Thank you for reaching out and listening to the podcast. Whether you can negotiate for additional money depends on the terms that are in the easement. You will need to obtain an easement from the public records in the county where you live. If you can seek additional compensation for entries, it will be listed in the easement. Most of the time that is not allowed.
